My Story

Amanda Swaney is a fine art photographer focusing on still life and landscape works.

The High Country of North-East Victoria is a constant source of inspiring material for Amanda Swaney’s fine art photography.  Subject matter for photographic works is gathered from her Mansfield farm and from the local landscape. Fruit from the farm orchard, flowers and vegetables, along with native foliage, are the subject matter for her still life images.

Each week her garden plants display new forms which are used to create compositions that are inspired by the works of the Dutch Masters and the colour and precise detail which are seen in Renaissance paintings. Majestic redgums in the nearby paddocks, mountain views and river scenes are the subject matter for her landscape photographs.

Amanda’s large, framed works feature in the shop ‘Made in Mansfield’ and Benalla Art Gallery stocks a selection of her cards. Each year Amanda produces a fine art calendar that highlights striking images of High Country landscapes, animals and still life.

Her images feature in Melbourne in the annual Centre for Contemporary Photography Salon and in 2022 she won the award for ‘Works on Paper’ section of the exhibition.
